Dr Bloemendal is a general surgeon who practices at Texas Health Harris Downtown and several ambulatory surgical centers in the Fort Worth area. A SMU graduate with his bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr Bloemendal continued his eduation receiving his medical degree from University of Texas at Galveston. He joined Texas Health Care alongside his father following completion of his surgical residency from Baylor University Medical Center.
Dr. Bloemendal completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and attended college at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Bloemendal is a member of several medical groups and organizations including American College of Surgeons, Tarrant County Medical Society, Fort Worth Surgical Society, and several committees for Texas Health Harris Methodist. In his free time, Dr Bloemendal enjoys spending time with his wife, Duffy and their 3 boys. When he isn’t at a kids game, you can find him hunting, fishing or driving anything fast.
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, he has a compassion for all general surgery, however particully interested in Endocrine and oncology surgeries, specifically pancreatic cancer. He takes pride in using minimally invasive surgical techniques, including DaVinci robotic assisted laparoscopy, to improve recovery time and post-operative pain.
